Our distillery won with Single Malt Selection J.H. and Special Rye Malt Nougat J.H. two medail at the Internationel Wine & Spirit Compation (IWSC).

On the 19th of June we celebrate the first wedding in our Distillery. Our Team congratulate Mr. and Ms. Pachert.

Our Whisky was presented at the grand opening of the 1. "Faulenzerhotel" in the World.

Roggenhof was presented as "best practice example for internet marketing" at the austrian telefit-show 2009.

"Discover how whisky is produced" - we created the whisky-experience world to show you just that.

The whisky distillery founded in 1995 has expanded constantly  and the current stage has been completed by the creation of the fire water garden and building of the whisky warehouse III. Our generation has accomplished the expansion of the distillery; let the next generation carry on from here. The whisky-experience world has become an even more attractive tourist destination and can welcome yearly up to 100,000 visitors.

The four elements: Fire, water, earth and air are the main theme of the fire-water garden. The focal point is  the fireplace, surrounded by water and it forms the heart of the garden. The elements earth  and air manifest themselves not only in the trees of the four seasons  which are planted all around the fire water arena, but above all in the Celtic tree circle that surrounds the whisky warehouse III and includes a tree of life  for every visitor.

An adventure playground and an playground for toddlers awaits the young visitors.

A patio has been added to the whisky cafe.

The whisky warehouse III completes the development of the storage area. It holds approx. 2,500 barrels made from local oak, this corresponds to an amount of half a million litres of whisky.

The whisky experience world at the Roggenhof has become a tourist destination of the special kind.

The new Waldviertler whisky tartan J.H. was  presented at the opening  ceremony on 19th June, 2009

Monika Haider came up with the idea, the tartan was then designed by the national costume designer Elfi Maisetschlaeger from Weitra.

This tartan takes its colours from the earth (brown-green) fire (red) air (white) and water (blue).

The growing interest and increasing numbers of visitors pushed us to our limits. So we rebuilt our distillery making it not just a functional, but also pleasing and interesting to look at, and created a Whisky Experience World

Friday 9 September 2005 the deputy head of the local parliament of Lower Austria, KR Ernest Gabman cut the red ribbon and declared the Whisky Experience World open. We also introduced the film and the book “Fascination Whisky” for the first time to the public. The 10 and 11 September were open days and we welcomed over 2000 visitors.

We had built a new larger distillery and new storage space for the barrels in just about 12 months. A cinema was also built, to introduce the visitor to the magic of whisky and to show the various steps of the whisky production. Through the glass walls of the cinema, the visitor can see the high tech still, the malt mill the malt store and the stored barrels where the whisky matures. From the rye field to the whisky glass.
The old seminar hall is now a whisky café.

The guided tour and subsequent tasting will prove to our visitors the quality of our products and we hope they will be infected  by our fascination with Whisky.
